Welcome to the Saint Barnabas' Website.  Here you will find information about our life in Christ as community, and how we try to extend that sense of community beyond our home base here at the corner of 13th and Vine.

The Saint Barnabas community has been gathering together for 122 years. We may be well over a century old but our thinking is not!

Earlier generations of our community, sensing the call of Christ to be a servant community as well as a community gathered in prayer and worship, engaged with the world and the issues of their day: Reaching out to those caught in the tragedy of suicide, recognizing the need for quality education for children of all capacities, standing up for civil rights for all regardless of race, insisting that women must have their rightful and equal place in the life and ministry of the church and our nation.

In our turn we are vitally engaged in: Standing with the LGBT community and insisting all of us are family in Christ together, loved by Christ together, created good in the image of God.  We work as well to support outreach and service to families and children who live in motels on Colfax, serve as a host site for a shelter for women who are homeless, cultivate plots in a community garden to provide fresh produce to local food banks, advocating for a just and compassionate society

While engaging in service to those whom Christ loves we are at heart a community grounded in the sacraments and gathered together to support one another in our life in Christ.

You are welcome at Saint Barnabas just as you are: A beloved child of God!
